Senate Passes Young Entrepreneur Auction Bill helping Business Angels

STATEHOUSE – A bill co-authored by State Representative Ron Bacon (R-Chandler) was unanimously approved by the Senate on Tuesday. House Bill 1251, which establishes a Young Entrepreneurs Program, has now passed unanimously through both the House and the Senate.
HB1251 sets up a Young Entrepreneurs Program through the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) to promote business proposals of students graduating in entrepreneurship programs across the state. Through the program, at least one preview would be held each year to allow communities to bid for the opportunity to bring a young entrepreneur’s business to their community. Indiana’s Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) will also assist rural communities in preparing for the auctions.
“Entrepreneurs and the small businesses they start are the future of our state,” said Rep. Bacon. “This program provides these young entrepreneurs will excellent opportunities while simultaneously boosting local communities and providing jobs to Hoosiers across the state.”
HB1251 now goes to the governor’s desk for approval. |
